Addiction Recovery Group

Research has shown that the longer a person stays in treatment, the higher their chances of a successful recovery. Therapy along with a healthy support system sets a strong foundation for recovery. In addition to professional treatment at Mind Matters Therapy Services, involvement with sponsor and a 12-step program is recommended.
A small group environment fosters learning, improves self-awareness, and helps to guide you through your journey of recovery. With relapse rates for drug addiction around 40-60 percent, per the National Institute on Drug Abuse reports, ongoing support services are very important. These services can help to reduce these rates or lessen the severity and duration of relapse. Addiction recovery group therapy will help you look at causes and triggers for your addiction such as trauma and other less than nurturing experiences in your life. You will gain an understanding on the impact that substances have on your mind, body, emotions, and behaviors. You will identify coping skills and relapse prevention plans and become accountable for your life and recovery. Your peers will support your process of change and will provide you with a sense of community.
Treatment Orientation: Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT),  TF-CBT Traumatic Grief,  Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), Person-Centered, Solution-Focused (SFBT), Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), Strength-Based Therapy.
